For Clearwater Comic Con 2017, we expected the usual con fare in a smaller venue, but boy, were we surprised. In its fourth year, this tiny con packed an enormous punch and had some really fun aspects to it.
The community was out in full force throughout the event, and one area that this con separated itself from the rest is in the cosplay. There were a ton of cosplayers representing almost every fictional world you can think of! Probably one of the best parts is that the Star Wars cosplay was very well done, and we saw plenty of cool outfits there.
At the same time, the vendor area was a nice spot to browse through geeky items. We especially loved saying “hi” to the folks at Fierce Comics, who had an outstanding table set up with a slew of their offerings. It was a nice opportunity to browse what they’re showcasing and pick up some new issues.
Another one of note was RNA Scale Model Artist Matt Guercia. His Star Wars models were awesome! By the end of the show, we were totally pumped about being part of the comic and pop culture scene, and it was a serious chance to enjoy another con.
Can’t wait until next year to do this one again!
